During the past year and a half, members of the CASP Crisis Intervention Steering Committee (CISC) have been discussing and developing a proposal to facilitate training and knowledge of best practices in school crisis prevention, response, and intervention, among school psychologists and other educational professionals .
Members of the CASP CISC were instrumental in planning and presentations for the 2001 CASP Summer Institute on School Crisis Prevention and Intervention and preparing for a related 2002 CASP Summer Institute. At the recent CASP board meeting
(October 20, 2001) the CASP CISC proposal to develop a second Certification of Advanced Training and Specialization (CATS) program was approved.
