Resource Fact Sheet: Pink Slip Recipients

Dear CASP Member:

As you are well aware, California’s education system is taking a major hit in the list of budget cuts proposed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Most school districts have sent notices to employees to warn them of potential layoffs before the next school year begins.

If you have received a layoff notice or “Reduction in Force” (RIF) notice from your school district, county office of education or SELPA, and you are represented by the California Teachers Association (CTA), please click here for instructions on receiving a hearing regarding your potential dismissal.

If you are not represented by CTA, and you believe you have seniority or other rights to your job despite the RIF notice, please contact memberservices@casponline.org. Be sure to include the name of your employer (school district, county office, etc.), the number of years you have served there as a school psychologist and a phone number where a CASP board member may reach you.
