CASP Media Page

Welcome to the California Association of School Psychologists Media Page.

School psychologists can be cited as experts on a number of different school-related topics. They often act as the link between mental health services and schools, understanding how both systems work.

If you need to contact a school psychologist about a specific topic, please contact Heidi Holmblad, CASP director of communications, at 916/444-1595 or at communications@casponline.org, or Suzanne Fisher, CASP executive director at sfisher@casponline.org.

CASP has experts ready to speak to the media about the following topics:

  • Special education reform
  • Response-to-Intervention models
  • Problem solving
  • Behavior management
  • Transition planning (from special education to general education and from special education to out of the school system)
  • Overrepresentation of minority groups in special education
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Classroom climate
  • Behavior intervention
  • Severely handicapping conditions
  • School violence
  • Social skills development
  • High school students and high schools
  • Bullying
  • Crisis intervention
  • Youth suicide
  • And many other topics
